'Military Aid' 10/02      [ Pricing & Details ]
'Military Aid.' 5’ x 18’ Bakalar Gallery. Massachusetts College of Art, Boston, MA. 10/02 This piece was comprised of two canvasses, paint and paint brushes, and painter’s suits and was completed by the audience, both at the opening, and for the duration of the time period the piece was in the gallery (three weeks). The paint by numbers is based on images that I took from the web that were from Ramallah. I did not inform the audience of this. I merely stated (on wall text) that 100% of this military’s aid came from the united states and that, under the aid agreement, this military had to purchase 75% or more of their equipment from U.S. military contractors. The last thing the text stated was that 41.3% of U.S. tax dollars in 2000 went toward the military.
